Spam

This week I went to see Spamalot with several friends. If you are like me and don't adore Monty Python you can still enjoy this show! It helps to have seen the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail-even if I was in high school. Like most other Broadway shows it was racy at times but So good! This is a picture of the Knights of the Round Table (roulette) and the Camelot girls.
Hopefully in a few months I will have the opportunity to see another show or two. Any suggestions on good ones other than Wicked/Lion King/Phantom I would love to have them! This weekend was girls weekend. I went over to Guntersville to spend the night with several girls from Bible study and just catch up. We did a little stichin' and chattin'. Jenna taught everyone how to knit, although I have to admit I am no good! It is going to take me some time to figure it out!
I left from the weekend with a greater realization of how great God is. He works so uniquely in each of our lives and all for our good. It was a blessing to see and hear how God has brought each of us through our own storms.

Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain

February is a big month for me. I have 2 interviews for grad school and I'm finally starting my blog!

Last weekend mom and I had a road trip up to Oklahoma for my interview with Oklahoma State University. Neither of us had ever been to OK before so we were both excited to see what it had to offer.

We flew in to OK City (or The City as locals refer to it) and headed for Stillwater. After a pit stop in the small town of Guthrie for a fabulous lunch we arrived on campus for the weekend.
Stillwater, like Auburn is a college town. It has lots of coffee shops, a few boutiques, and LOTS of cow country around it. It is surrounded by rural farmland to a much greater extent then AU.
OSU's buildings are all really close together. I didn't feel like there was a lot of green space there but it also could have been because it wasn't green at the time. They did have a pretty lake to hang around near their greek row.

My interview was Friday so mom and I had a day to relax prior to my freak out. I have never felt more covered in prayer as the Friday of my interview. Thank you all so much for your prayers. Several faculty members commented on how relaxed I looked. It wasn't just my normal even-keeled self. It was your prayer and the Holy Spirit that filled me! So thanks for helping get me through it.
After 5 hours bringing my A-game to the students and faculty. I was poor company to mom. We checked out 2 more restaurants that night and turned in early.

Total I ate at 6 different restaurants in town and one of those I doubled up at because it was free breakfast-we really made our rounds!

IF any of you are country music fans-Garth did live in Stillwater for a year. I tried 3 times to take a picture of his house so this is the best you will get.

The interview:
It was like NOTHING I have ever done before. 4 faculty rooms, 2 student rooms. Each interview was 20-25 minutes long. I had apprx. 30 seconds in between each interview. The faculty rooms has 2 faculty and the student rooms has 3-5 students.

Questions were all pretty standard. Why OSU, career goals, research interests. They all just wanted to get to know me-my strengths and weaknesses.

Covenant:
I interview with Covenant in 2 weeks, February 27. Your prayers will be much appreciated! I will keep you all posted on how everything turns out!
